Cabinet NG delivers "killer app" for intuit's quickbooks users and advisors

New CNG-Books application streamlines QuickBooks data entry and Cabinet NG filing into one consistent and efficient electronic process for small-to-medium size businesses

September 21, 2004 - Athens, Ala.—Cabinet NG, Inc., the industry's only automated file management solution that starts filing as you start typing, announced today the release of CNG-Books, a QuickBooks-integrated software application. CNG-Books simplifies financial management by streamlining accounts receivable and accounts payable data entry, while simultaneously filing each document electronically. This single-step automation maximizes business office accounting efficiency by reducing human error, increasing productivity, creating consistency in record keeping processes, and maintaining document security using Cabinet NG's user-access control capabilities.

"We offer a wide range of financial services to a broad set of businesses, and it is imperative that we continuously scan the horizon for better ways to run our business and our clients' businesses. When we learned of a solution, specifically designed to bring document management and QuickBooks together, we knew we'd found a killer application," said Greg Crabtree, founder of Crabtree, Rowe & Berger. "This application is a major efficiency break-through in eliminating the paperwork bottleneck. We now have immediate fingertip access to a system that integrates electronic document management and business accounting software."

Implementation of CNG-Books is easy for any business already using QuickBooks, because it presents the same pull-down and data-entry fields for entering billing and payment data already used in QuickBooks. CNG-Books works by:

  • Scanning vendor bills and customer payments locally or opening a faxed document's image file using CNG-Books.
  • Entering the information about the bill/payment using the CNG-Books pull-down and data-entry fields.
  • Sending the data to QuickBooks and filing the image into Cabinet NG with a single mouse click.

If a folder does not exist, CNG-Books will automatically create one using the customer/vendor information obtained from QuickBooks.

According to Andrew Bailey, president, Cabinet NG, "We are excited about the opportunity to help businesses raise productivity by uniting document management and accounting functions. Becoming QuickBooks-integrated demonstrates Cabinet NG's commitment to the small-to-medium size business market."

CNG-Books is an optional add-on module to the base Cabinet NG software. CNG-Books can be used with existing or new installations of Cabinet NG V4.5 or higher. CNG-Books was designed using Intuit Inc.'s (Nasdaq: INTU), QuickBooks SDK and enables data integration with QuickBooks Pro 2002, 2003 and 2004 (including Pro, Premier and Enterprise Editions).
