The $20 million dollar manufacturer outgrew its PC-based PaperMaster document management system and was looking for an automated, electronic solution that would scale with Benedettini’s growth into new markets. Further complicating matters, the previous process of manually scanning documents – ranging from job files such as drawings and material orders to customer credit information and job performance documentation – had become too laborious and error-prone.

Benedettini Gains Shared Information Processes Needed for Growth - Benedettini has nine field sales people who frequently need to review documents such as drawings at a moment’s notice. Most connect through the Internet on a broadband link. With Cabinet NG, field personnel can quickly, securely, and easily access the documents they need to complete projects. These efficiency gains enabled Benedettini to expand its sales distribution strategy. Using the Cabinet NG solution also provided the scalability required for complete field access to specific documentation stored in the CNG-SAFE central information repository. Since each cabinetry project is customized and constantly changed, a centralized and automated electronic document information repository keeps everyone working on the project up to date and helps reduce errors.

As Ken explains, sales people are given specific document access parameters with the CNG-SAFE solution. For example, when master documents should not be changed, its access parameters are set to view only. This eliminates costly errors that would have been created by using a master document that was accidentally edited. In addition, the tracking capabilities offered by Cabinet NG help keep Benedettini organized giving top management a clear view into the performance of both projects and personnel.
